50th Annual Ann Arbor Art Fair

Tomorrow I will be going to the annual Ann Arbor Art Fair. The fair is absolutely HUGE, blocks and blocks of art work, food, and crazy cool deals at the clothing stores there. Urban Outfitters has unreal deals at their street sale and it is one of my favorite stores. Don't get me wrong I love walking around and looking at all of the beautiful artwork but none of it is really in my price range...ie they want 4 grand for a blown up photo of a building in Italy. I mean I could take that myself, so maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to travel and take amazing photographs and then sell them for an outrageous price! (I can only hope) But this is one of my favorite summer activities and Ann Arbor is a favorite city of mine and I look forward to it every year! And if you've ever been, you know what I am talking about.

The Fourth Of July
For the fourth of July my family all gathered at my cousins, Jackie and Jake's house. It was a two for one party. We celebrated the fourth and my grandpa's 80th birthday. I also went to Ft. Meigs in Perrysburg on the 3rd for fireworks, which were awesome! I love the 4th of July, even though the weather wasn't the greatest this year it was still fun. I don't know if it's the fact that it is the middle of summer and there is family, friends, great food, a pool and explosives, that make me love this holiday. Or that we are the only country who celebrate our freedom by blowing stuff up and drinking while handling it and the simple joy that little kids get from fireworks. Well, thanks to all our Vets and current soldiers in the United States Armed Forces who make this holiday possible!

Such A Tease..
So last night was the MTV Movie Awards and they showed the trailer for the second installment in the Twilight Saga: New Moon. I basically watched the show for this reason anddd Andy Samberg was hosting/ Kings Of Leon preformed. But it was awesome! I am so stoked for the movie to come out, but it was such a tease because they get you pumped for the movie but it's not coming out for another six months! oh well, guess we'll have to watch the trailer over and over til then :) The show was killer btw. Here's the trailer..THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD

"Dude, your roommate's a freak."
I haven't posted anything in a while, so here are some photos from the past few weeks. The first ones are from when Ash and Britt decided to dress up like super heroes and jump off of the beds onto the extra mattress... enough said. Then there are some portraits of one of the girls downstairs and of the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences here at OU at a boy scout meeting, teaching the boys how to cook an egg on a stick.. don't ask. Gotta love Athens.

Palmerfest '09

Palmerfest was INSANE. Although I missed the end of it, I saw enough. The end was close to a riot and people were burning couches in the street, throwing full beer cans/bottles at the fuzz and their horses injuring them, kids getting maced and thrown down by cops and arrested. It was in Columbus papers and news. And no I didn't have my camera with me for any of this, I was to afraid something would happen to it. But I'm posting a link to a local paper's article, The Post and here is a video that was posted on YouTube today.. FIRE
*note: not all of OU's students are like this, I swear.

Week 6 Pic

Feature was assignment number five for Vico390 this week. This isn't the photo that I turned in, but I don't have any of the kids' names or the mom's. So I had to select a different one to turn in...boo. But this was taken at the Spring Literary Festival's kick off night in Baker during the second speaker. David Kirby is a Florida State English professor and author of TWENTY-NINE books (holy crap right?) He was hilarious. It was pretty quiet while he was reading, minus the laughter, so my camera could be heard every time I snapped a photo. The little kids keep glaring at me and telling their mom, it was so cute. And Kirby was talking about the little boy's stuffed bunny's name while I took this, so everyone was laughing. I like this photo a lot. Anyways though, he read some of his poems and I was expecting to fall asleep but he was great! All of his poems were funny, sarcastic and pretty blunt. Check him out on youtube if ya want, the one about Elvis is pretty humorous. Wow this is a ridiculously long blog, sorry!

High Fest... Or Just The Church

This weekend was so fun! It was sunny, warm and everyone was in a good mood it seemed like. It was also the first fest of the year, High Fest. Almost every house has a party on this street and it is also theeee steepest street, I felt like I was in California. But we actually hung out at a friend's sister house, (whose backyard meets with the backyard of a house on High), The Church. There was a live band and tons of people, including long lost friend MEGHAN! After she switched dorms we all rarely see each other, but this weekend we were reunited and it was great! The Church is probably one of my favorite places on campus. They call it ' The Church' because, well, it used to be a church. The whole house is beautiful and one of the most unique looking houses around OU. I love it there and everyone always has a good time! It's almost guaranteed you'll leave happy :)

Spring Has Sprung!
Today I am going to brag about the 88 degree weather Ohio is having today. Thank God that it is finally warm out, it's about time. I think we are even warmer than Arizona and Cali! Anyway song of the day is Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root.

Poetry Slam...What?

Today I went to a Poetry Slam, which was a meeting where students came together to read and share their poetry aloud. I had to take photos for an assignment, NOT to participate. It wasn't really my scene. And I mean that because it was mainly gay men and women reading about topics I couldn't relate to, or how they pretty much hate men (the women) and all these insane poems. I mean do what you want and think what you will, but I had no idea what in the heck would be said. I figured it would be all emo and dark / love and lust. I was wrong, although that was covered for some readings. First and last time attending that. But I got my image so I'm set.. this one is a girl reading a set of random sentences that each person there wrote down and then added them together to make a poem. Again, the color is washed out so it's not the best. I really should learn how to set it to sRBG and whatnot...

Oldies But Goodies
Sometimes I just feel like posting photos on here so I'm doing it now. Also I don't feel like doing homework. Here are some from awhile ago, when uploading some of the color gets washed out on these so it's not me, I swear :)
Idol Hotness

American Idol's Kris Allen is so attractive. And talented. And young. And attractive. Tonight was disco night and he was hands down thee best. He completely redid Donna Summer's "She Works Hard For The Money" and stripped it down to guitar, jambe and bass. Kick asssss. I hope he wins because he is a musician already. He knows who he is and how to work a crowd. The judges love him as well. I also pray to God that Adam gets the boot sometime soon, what IS it about him that people think he has talent?? And since the show ended like and hour and a half ago no one has the performance up yet... so only pictures haha.

Last night I attended at showing of a documentary, The Rescue of Joseph Kony's Child Soldiers, and it. was. amazing. I cried, got mad, my heart broke and I got a journalist high. It will make you think. And hopefully want to help. Invisible Children

Characters on Court Street
Last week's photos on people/life on Court Street. Old man named Tom chillin' out at Chipotle enjoying his drink. He was such a cute little old man, but I could barely understand him because he grumbled and had a weird kind of accent, most likely a townie haha. And the two little boys were sitting outside of their parents' nail salon jamming with their headphones and watching the world go by. They were adorable and when I asked them a question they just nodded or shook their heads and never spoke. There are so many different people all over Court Street, from all walks of life so it makes for interesting photos.

Sunny with a High of 75
Sunday was b-e-a-utiful outside! It was sunny and 75 degrees out, I sat outside all day long. The trees are in bloom with awesome white flowers and the grass is getting green. There was a breeze and petals were flying everywhere, I felt like I was in a mystical land... and then a man comes and sets up a chair and a HARP. No joke, it was a fairytale. And we were climbing trees:)I even got sunburnt on my legs and today it was a balmy 44 and rainy, boo. But no worries the end of the week is supposed to be much better. Here are some photos from fantasy land:
